LEATHERWOLF RE-ENTERS THE "WORLD ASYLUM" LOS ANGELES' California metal warriors Leatherwolf have returned with
"World Asylum," their first studio album in over 15
years.
-
"World Asylum" was recorded with the new lineup of
original members Dean Roberts (drums) and Geoff Gayer (guitar) with new
additions Wade Black (vocals), Eric Halpern (guitar), and Patric Guyton
(bass).
-
Leatherwolf, which had two major label releases,
"Leatherwolf" and "Street Ready," in the
late "80s regrouped several years ago for some live dates and
re-ignited the Leatherwolf flame. A live album was released in 1999 but
due to financial constraints, several of the group's original
members were unable to continue on, so a new lineup was recruited.
-
Since the original reunion, Roberts and Gayer have kept a low profile,
working on new material and finding new members to join the fold.
"World Asylum" shows a harder and meaner side of
Leatherwolf than its "80s releases and when looking for a new
voice to front the band, Black, known for his work with Crimson Glory
and Seven Witches, had the pipes to fill the position.
-
"Wade has a heavier side than our original singer, Mike
Olivieri," said Roberts. "When it came to replacing
singers, Geoff and I decided to go with more of a metal singer, and out
of all of the singers that auditioned, Wade killed them all."
-
Olivieri, however, still remains a part of the Leatherwolf family,
adding backing vocals on "World Asylum." Initial
response to "World Asylum" in Europe has blown the band
away. "Geoff and I wanted to make a great record after we got
back from Wacken concert," Roberts said. "We are #2, #4
and #6 in the top three metal magazines in Europe and people were
surprised by how great the album is. But, more importantly, I love this
record. I think it's the best record Leatherwolf has ever
done."
-
The band plans to tour as much as possible in support of "World
Asylum," giving fans who never had the chance to see them an
opportunity. Leatherwolf is currently scheduled to kick off ProgPower
USA in Atlanta in September with a performance at the festival
pre-party.

EUROPEAN TOUR WITH
GUNS N" ROSES
-
NEW VIDEO FOR TEARS DON"T FALL
"Poised to become metal's next big thing!"-
Metal Edge
-
Bullet for
My Valentine has announced that they will return stateside to join up
with the East Coast run of the Vans Warped Tour, alongside AFI, Against
Me!, Aiden, and more. This UK export has been burning up our American
shores for almost a year, and has exploded since the release of The
Poison this past February on Trustkill Records. The album, which is a
ferocious metal chops gleaned from 80's greats and intricate,
dark, twin-guitar fury, has scanned over 65,000 in the US alone since
it's recent release, and more than 200,000 scans worldwide!
Guitar World acknowledges Bullet's talent with a huge nod,
saying that "One of BFMV's greatest assets is their
ability to play passages that are scathing, endorphin pumped and catchy
enough to hum." Metal Edge calls Bullet's sound
"as infectious as it is fresh." The band has received
feature covering in almost every major music magazine, including the
covers of Metal Hammer and Kerrang this past Spring, and stories in
Outburn, Rock Sound, Hit Parader, NME, Penthouse, Guitar One,
Alternative Press, and Revolver. All of the buzz around Bullet led to an
opening spot this spring on the Rob Zombie and Lacuna Coil tour,
followed by being the only opening act for Guns N" Roses at the
four sold-out New York City dates. BFMV is continuing their run with GNR
in Europe along with Metallica, and just finished up a headlining run on
the Trustkill Takeover Tour with Walls of Jericho and Roses are Red.
-

Bullet is already a gigantic sensation in Europe with The Poison at
nearly at gold status, debuting #1 at Rock Radio. They were one of the
main stagers this year at the Download Festival, billed right below GNR
and Funeral For A Friend, hometown friends from Wales. They just
finished filming a new music video for the song Tears Don"t
Fall, directed by Scott Winig (Tony Touch, Prince Paul) and Tony
Petrossian (Head Automatica, Avenged Sevenfold). The band, composed of
Tuck, Michael 'Padge' Padget (guitar), Michael 'Moose' Thomas (drums) or
Jason 'Jay' James (bass) are childhood mates from the area of Bridgeend,
also home to LostProphets.

ACUMEN NATION SIGN WITH CRASH MUSIC, INC.
-
PHOENIX, ARIZONA - Acumen Nation have finalized a multi-album deal with
Crash Music, Inc.
The band had this to say about their new label home: "We are all psyched
about signing to Crash. We spent three years recording and producing
this album ("Anticore") and the end result was the heaviest record we
have ever made. We knew we had to find someone dedicated to the metal
audience in order for it to be appreciated and Crash is exactly the kind
of label we wanted to work with."
-
In turn, Crash Music, Inc. could not be happier with the deal. Crash
Music, Inc. President Mark Nawara says: "We are all thrilled with
signing
Acumen Nation to the label! Everyone is really happy with how the album
turned out, it is a lot heavier than the groupšs previous efforts and
we
cannot wait to bring it to the Metal and Industrial masses!"
-
The Industrial-Rock pioneers recently completed their new album,
entitled "Anticore", and have scheduled the album to be released on
September 19th. The new Acumen Nation sound could easily be described as
hardcore tech-metal, finding companionship with the likes of Poison the
Well and Lamb of God as well as Front Line Assembly. Faster and heavier
than anything the quartet has released before, "Anticore" retains their
signature sound of complex minor chord melodies and harsh, intelligent
programming while upping the tempo and attacking with cynical and
emotional lyrics and hard driving guitars. The album also features Lucia
from KMFDM lending her vocal talent to the track "My Lifešs Last
Breath".
Crash Music is distributed in the U.S. by Caroline Distribution and has
offices in Germany that handle the European territories through Crash
Music Europe.
-
ACUMEN NATION is:
Jason Novak- vocals/guitar/programming
Jamie Duffy- guitar/programming
Eliot Engelman- bass
Dan Brill- drums

over five years. Set to kick off September 29 the dates will visit
East and Midwest cities before concluding on October 14 in Montreal.
Along with labelmates Entombed (new album expected Fall 2006) Dismember

Metal sound. Nearly two decades into a respected career, the band
still is as fresh and vital today. The God That Never Was, the band's
latest record available in stores nationwide now, showcases a
finely-ground assault that commands attention. Swaying from war to
religion, lyrically the band tackle new grounds all the while delivering
their classic, primitive and always super tight death metal.
"Musically we're trying to do better with every album,"
explains drummer / producer Fred Estby. "Most of us are in
our 30's and we have got to prove ourselves a little bit more every
time. We fought hard with this album."
Formed in 1988 in Stockholm, Dismember have an extensive worldwide
recording, sales and touring history. The band's entire catalog
was reissued in 2005 featuring previously unavailable live and demo

CINDER SIGNS TO ROCK RIDGE MUSIC
-
Album Due Out In August
-
Ft. Myers, Florida-based band Cinder has signed with Rock Ridge
Music. Their forthcoming album, "House Full Of No Trust," is due in
stores on August 8th.
Cinder commented on the signing, saying, "We are glad to be on a label
that has a passion for what we are doing and will give us the room
to grow as artists. It is a secure feeling to know that we have the
room to develop the new CD and that it will get to see the light of day.
We are looking forward to the future with Rock Ridge Music. It is also
nice to know that the powers that be, the people running the label, have
what it will take to run the label the right way."
-
Says Rock Ridge principal Tom Derr about signing Cinder: "Cinder is
exactly the type of band that Rock Ridge was founded on: hard working
and looking for a home after the crazy major label world." For those who
recognize the name Cinder, it is likely from their earlier affiliation
with Geffen Records. They signed to the label and recorded a debut
album for Geffen ("Break Your Silence"), had one of the singles from
said album ("Soul Creation") chart, and the band hit the road with Creed
and Sevendust. The single, "Soul Creation," was also on four different
video games as well. In an inexplicable industry move sure to incite
confused head shaking, the band was dropped before the album was ever
released!
-
Several years and a member change later, the band is finally releasing
an album, "House Full Of No Trust." Already the first single, "The
Fall," is impacting at radio. Cinder has been on the road with the
likes of Dark New Day, Revery and Allele throughout the southeastern
U.S. this summer, with a lot more touring planned. Band members are
Roger Young (vocals), Kenny Craig (guitar), Steve Reich (bass),
and Brian Colbert (drums).

About Inner Surge:
Inner Surge is an intense, politically and emotionally charged
metal/punk band from Calgary, Canada. The band has an explosive live
show and blends punk, rock, metal, hardcore, progressive, electronic and
eastern influences. With an eclectic, intense approach, the band
explores politics and deep seeded emotions in its music. The result is a
sound that is compassionate, yet unapologetically raw that will
compliment Di'anno's hard-edged sound.
