On Friday April 1st Barry Stern passed away from what is believed to be complications from a recent hip replacement surgery. Barry made an impact on the Chicago metal scene in the 80's with his band Zoetrope whose street metal put out the legendary Amnesty and Life Of Crime releases.

FATES WARNING release Awaken the Guardian expanded edition!
Fates Warning will be releasing an expanded edition of the 1986 classic Awaken the Guardian. This double CD and DVD set not only features full, re-mastered versions of the original eight tracks, but also features an entire disc of rare live and demo tracks and a DVD that includes a dozen Fates Warning videos. The set will be released in through Metal Blade Records and will be available in stores June 28, 2005.
