Gamma Ray
Heading For Tomorrow (1991)

This is Gamma Ray's first album, and even though it sounds a lot like Helloween (Kai Hansen's previous band), some of the songs have IMO a much bigger hard/heavy/glam rock influence than Helloween. But of course, this is undoubtely real "Helloweenian" power metal. My favourite songs off of Heading For Tomorrow is "Lust For Life", "Heaven Can Wait" (I don't care how cheesy it is, I like it!) and "Hold Your Ground". The vocalist Ralf (now in Primal Feal) does as usual a really good job, though I might preferr Kai Hansen as a vocalist.

A classic for any power metal fan, this is one of the bands which made power metal what it is today!
