2000 NEWS ARCHIVE

Kevin Lewis Leaves October 31 (12/26/2000)

Well, Christmas is usually a time for good news and fun times but sadly, guitarist Kevin Lewis has decided to leave the band effective immediately.  Between all the $$$ it costs to be in an active metal band that plays out, a fiancée, living over 400 miles away and a work schedule with very little room to breathe, he has decided to bow out from the ranks.  The band wants to wish him the best in his life decision and hopes he will continue on the very best he can with his music.

It isn’t easy to get 4/5 guys together on the same wavelength all the time and keep things running smoothly as a band.  Sadly, things like this sometimes happen.

As for OCTOBER 31, we will obviously carry on and record the new album as a four piece.  We’ll also take a long hard look at a replacement for Kevin on rhythm guitar and not ‘rush’ into anything quickly.   We hope to record “No Survivors!” in April of this year and have it out for a summer release!  We thank everyone for their support during these ‘changes’ within the band and hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday!!!

Thank you for your time, in metal and respect,

King Fowley

New Official Vocalist Quits! (05/16/2000)

In another chapter in the topsy turvy world of October 31, Shawn Pelata has decided to quit the band due to the usual "personal and musical differences". Basically, the guy doesn't want to do metal anymore. 'Nuff said.

OCTOBER 31 Announce New Official Vocalist! (02/28/2000)

There has been a change of plans concerning the line-up. It was originally planned to have a different drummer (Dave Castillo from HATRED) for live shows to free King up to do only the vocals. The discovery of an amazing singer changed all this. His name is SHAWN PELATA and man, can he rip! Imagine a vocal tone similar to Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin from JAG PANZER combined with the vocal range of a young Rob Halford (you should know what band he was in! haha) and you have a pretty good idea of what this guy can do. As a band we are very excited about the fresh blood and can't wait to tear peoples' faces off live and on our forthcoming albums! Shawn will make his debut live appearance in Blacksburg, Virginia on April 22nd! More details about the show and a new line-up picture soon to come so watch this page!
