JESTERS
MOON "Jesters
Moon"
[Independent]
Jesters
Moon are coming from USA. I think this is their debut album and it's an
independent one. Their influences are Black Sabbath and Judas Priest,
and their style is somewhere between doom, pure heavy and epic metal.
The first and last impression is that the music is very nice, while the
vocals are just not good.
Still that is a personal opinion and someone else could have a different
one, but I strongly believe that with better vocalist they should be able
to sound much more professional, solid and remarkable. The current singer
is too weak and has a very strange voice... the only reason I played the
album around 5 times is the music and only that. The guys have lots of
really nice guitar ideas and I especially loved the solos everywhere.
The feeling overflowing the album is an epic one, you'll find kind of
songs you want to listen again for their highly interesting guitar themes
and solos, but there are also cool synths (Ayreon alike) in a couple of
parts. Acoustic parts are so damn lovely and along with the exceptional
drumming constitute an attractive CD for all the traditional and emotional
heavy metal fans around.
The production is not the best you can get, but stands proudly for an
independent release. I just wish they had another vocalist, so the current
one will only focus on guitars and keyboards. Let's wish them good luck
and expect a new album under a respectful label with a new vocalist :) |
