HOLY DRAGONS - a Power-Speed Metal band, that combines the savage power of True Power Metal with catchy melodies, powerful riffs with swift solos, wisdom of the East and energy of the West. No wonder, the only place where dragons can exist is the place far away from the center of civilisation. So, the band appeared in Kazakhstan, the place where the huge mountain chain of Tien-Shan separates the borders of China from the territory of the former Soviet Union. HOLY DRAGONS are the only True Number One Heavy Metal Warriors on this vast territory, which comprises all the Central Asian countries almost equal in their size to the territory of the USA.
But you shouldn't underestimate the band only because that they come from such a god forgotten place. HOLY DRAGONS is a furious killing machine, capable of challenging the world's contemporary Heavy Metal hierarchy. Just listen to their freshest album "Twilight of the Gods" and you'll never regret about your time spent on it.
What one can say about the band's creativeness? The style is based on the purest guitar-oriented Power Metal, having its roots in the German Heavy Metal and such great albums as "Painkiller" and "Walls of Jericho". It's not at all like some modern fashionable power metal bands, which prefer to hide their guitar parts under the sound of keyboards. You'll not find this in HOLY DRAGONS. If you miss the real guitar sound, as in the 80-ties, this album is for you.
While listening to the new album of HOLY DRAGONS one gets the impression of a hurricane of steel twisting the listener and carrying away beyond the borders of imagination with the speed of a transcontinental express, breaking everything on its way. Guitar work of the band reminds of such great British guitar duets like Tipton-Downing or Murray-Smith and mad guitar solos make a real challenge for the present guitar world hierarchy. The powerful voice of Holger Komaroff, sometimes reminding Dio, sometimes snarling aggressively or flying to the stratosphere is backed by the mighty steam hammer of the rhythm section. Acoustic guitars are skilfully used in the whole musical picture of the album.
Critics about this album: "brutal grenade-album", "energy of riffs and crystal sound", "real Heavy Metal for long-haired hard-ass men". During 47 minutes of the album the band keeps you tense, changing the speed, skilfully juggling harmonies.
But at the same time the band carefully keeps the melody, constructing its melodic line on the powerful riffs harmonies, blowing the remnants of quietness and indifference : time for the Twilight of the Gods has come!
The band has a very rich musical experience. "Twilight of the Gods" is the 6th full length album of the band. About 5 000 copies of their previous works were sold in their home country.
